Are you sure?

Go through these forms, think again, and use them when necessary:
a). for an experiment overnight/week-end
b). for when using hazardous chemicals and/or conditions.

Safety Rules in the Chemical Engineering department

Posted on 21/02/2018

Your grandma wants to visit you at work and see where you are doing that great research project.

Checklist before the visit:
- Is the lab tidy enough? (most probably she would love to help with that!) But would you dare let her approach your lab bench?
- Do you have safety equipment for her?
- Did you clean the "dishes"?
- Is the air safe to breath? (or would you need to open the window?..NOT!)

But before even inviting her..
..are you prepared starting working in the lab yourself?

Go through the attached Checklist and follow the instructions provided there.

Thermally reversible thermoset materials based on the chemical modification of alternating aliphatic polyketones - R.A. Araya Hermosilla

Posted on 17 October 2016

Researchers from Groningen have developed an alternative to epoxy resin that can repair itself when damaged. The material is also fully recyclable a limited number of times, and does not contain Bisphenol A, a substance that can disrupt the endocrine system. Rodrigo Andrés Araya Hermosilla will defend his PhD thesis on the development of this alternative.
